Chevrolet Trax: Power brake booster vacuum hose replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. With the engine OFF, apply and release the brake pedal several times to deplete the power vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  1. Through the left front wheelhouse, disconnect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) from the power brake booster pump port.
  2. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) from the intake manifold vacuum port.
  2. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.

  1. Remove the power brake booster vacuum sensor and hose assembly (1) from the power vacuum brake booster grommet.

  1. Release the clamp and remove the power brake booster vacuum sensor (1).
  2. Remove the power brake booster vacuum hose assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power brake booster vacuum hose assembly to the vehicle.

NOTE: A small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly.

  1. Release the clamp and install the power brake booster vacuum sensor (1).

NOTE: A small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly.

  1. Install the power brake booster vacuum sensor and hose assembly (1) to the power vacuum brake booster grommet.
  2. Connect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.

  1. Connect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) to the intake manifold vacuum port.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  1. Through the left front wheelhouse, connect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) to the power brake booster pump port.

    Ignition OFF, exterior lamps OFF, trunk latch latched, remove the E5AB Tail/Stop Lamp - Right bulb. Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit at the socket terminal and ground. If 5 ohms or greater Ignition OFF. Test for less than 2 ohms in the ground circuit end to end.
